Hey Glamour Ghoul!
Spooky season is just around the corner and it's been a while since we've talked about what's happening in the Tiny Ghost world. So here is a catch up of all the creepy, cooky, and exciting goings-on at Tiny Ghost Press.
First up, we're super, super excited about the impending release of our second title My Name Is Magic. MNIM releases September 27th (ah!), just around the corner, which means it's all systems go trying to promote the book and get the word out.
You've probably all heard authors and publishing talking about all important pre-sales, and they really are necessary in order for the algorithms of online booksellers to pick up your books as one to promote. Which is why it's so important (especially as a still just starting out indie press) for us to create as much buzz around our books as possible. That's why we've been sending out copies of MNIM to bloggers, booktokkers, and bookstagrammers in the hopes of getting the book in front of as many eyes as possible and ideally garnering some rave reviews. MNIM is already getting some great feedback, which is really lovely to see. But we need as much assistance as possible to make this book the smash it deserves to be.
We're also working to figure out some exciting merch options for our online store, where a portion of profits go to help homeless LGBTQ+ youth or kids in difficult home situation; as well as setting up a launch events, Q&As with the author, and blasting social media.
In the office we are so excited about this book and know that if it can find the right readers it'll be a hit. This is a book for fans of magic schools who are looking for a new campus, that's inclusive and diverse. There's mystery, magic, and even a little bit of romance. It's a dark urban fantasy that draws on Finnish mythology with a non-binary MC and a cast of lovable disaster queers. It would mean so much to us if everyone who reads it could tell their friends and their followers, and leave a review on Amazon or Goodreads.
We're going to be on the edge of our seats until My Name Is Magic is released in less than two weeks (!!!) but you can preorder your copy now anywhere books are sold!
In other news we're looking toward the future. Our upcoming titles are all in various stages of editing and positioning in the market. And we're on the hunt for manuscripts for our fall/winter 2023 list and for 2024. We're particularly interested in finding some more diverse stories from authors of all sorts of back grounds and details about that can be found on our submissions page.
We're also gearing up for Halloween! As you can imagine the spooky season is one of our favourite times of year and we have lots coming up plus some more exciting announcements. So make sure to stay tuned and start getting those costumes ready now!
